There’s more than one way to scale a mountain.
Not much for hiking? Choose to ride instead. We recognize that not everyone is willing or able to hike to the top of a nearly 4,000-foot mountain. Yet, it would be a shame to deny anyone the view. That’s why we provide shuttle bus transportation to within 1,500 feet of the top of scenic Sharp Top Mountain, one of the three mountains at Peaks of Otter.
Riding up the mountain doesn’t mean you necessarily need to ride down. Many opt to enjoy the return leg of the trip on foot. The choice is yours. Trips are generally hourly, but will run more frequently when necessary to meet passenger demand.
NOTE: The 1,500 foot hike from the shuttle drop-off area to the top of Sharp Top Mountain is a rocky, rugged, strenuous hike. You can hike a few hundred feet to see the view below but it is not recommended for individuals with mobility issues.
